There is Peace in Your Storm Week 6

I'm a failure! I continue to fail over and over again. There is absolutely no success in my life. I am worthless. I am better off letting others take the lead because I am not good at anything. I try and I try and I try and I always let people down. The world would be better without me.

Do you ever feel that way? Do you ever think that you are worth nothing? Do you think sometimes that this world would be better without you? Well, if that is all true The Landing is a safe place for you to come to. We gather every Thursday from 7-9 (dinner is from 6-6:30 and free for students). Any problem, habit or pain that you are going through is accepted. This week we will be looking into a little deeper on what it means to have Peace in our lives. I hope and pray that you will join us because learning about having peace is so much greater than feeling alone. You're not alone.

Let's hear from Allison as she tells a little more about Peace.

When you think of peace, what comes to mind?
Is it a longing for calmness or a sense of control and understanding?

As we start off 2016 in The Landing we will begin with looking at peace and what it means for our recovery. Peace is so much more than a feeling we obtain or what we strive for. Our peace will only be found in Christ. Christ is our peace because He overcame not only the world, but itself!

Having peace does not mean that everything is perfect or easy, it just means that through the chaos, through the trials, and through the tests of life Christ is our constant. He not only  give us the strength to make it through but he walks with us and He knows exactly how we feel; He's been there and He truly knows.

So while the world makes their New Year's resolutions, let's make a recovery resolution to seek the true peace of Christ and embrace it throughout the walk of recovery!

"How can a young man keep his way pure?
By guarding it according to your word.
With my whole heart I seek you;
let me not wander from your commandments!
I have stored up your word in my heart,
that I might not sin against You."
Psalm 119:9-11
